About the Alaska District

The Alaska Soil and Water Conservation District, spanning 331 million acres, encompasses all areas of the state not served by one of the eleven local soil and water conservation districts (SWCD) in the state. Despite the large coverage area, diversity of peoples represented and variety of conservation issues, the intent of the Alaska district remains consistent with the purpose of the other districts:  to provide local assistance for the wise use of the natural resources within the district.
