Palmer Soil and Water Conservation District

This web site is produced in partnership with the Natural Resource Conservation Service.

The Palmer Soil and Water Conservation District was started by local landowners in 1947 and is managed by a volunteer board composed of agricultural producers.  It is one of 12 such Districts in Alaska and covers the Matanuska River Watershed area.  We encourage and promote voluntary conservation practices and stewardship of natural resources on private land, working with a wide variety of partners.
